Lincoln International Airport Brochure

$20.00

Here’s your chance to own a copy of a "rarely-seen" brochure published by Chicago's Lincoln International Airport in 1970*. Its cover is graced with a TGA 707 on climb-out, above Lincoln's famous terminal facade. Inside, you'll discover a detailed airport terminal diagram and a comprehensive airport map.** You'll also find a list of the airlines serving Lincoln at the time (complete with phone numbers***), greetings from Mayor Richard J. Dailey, information on the planned 1970s airport expansion, observation deck info, flight insurance kiosk info, and much more. And, on the back cover, you'll discover some names listed which you may recognize, including Airport Manager Mel Bakersfeld.

This eight-panel 2-sided brochure, conceptualized and designed by Chris Bidlack, is printed on high-quality paper stock, and arrives in a protective clear wrapper, ready to explore and enjoy. Folded size measures 3.5 x 8.5 inches, unfolding to 14 x 8.5 inches. It will be sent via USPS Priority Mail.

If you or a family member grew up reading Arthur Hailey's novel Airport, or if you fondly remember the 1970 Airport movie, this brochure is for you!

* No, it's not real. There was no Lincoln International Airport in Chicago, no big plans for its expansion to accommodate SSTs and 747s, and no, Mayor Dailey did not pen the welcome greeting on the first panel. This parody brochure was printed recently, not in 1970.

** Diagrams, maps, and other elements contain many assorted "Easter eggs" and a few inside jokes awaiting discovery.

*** Dialing any of the airline phone numbers listed is not recommended, although some may still work.
