VC10 Tribute

$35.00

Poster size is 14" wide by 20" tall, including a one-inch white border, and is printed on heavyweight, acid-free poster stock.

Considered one of the most beautiful airliners of the Jet Age, the Vickers VC10 served with distinction with several airlines and the RAF. Although only 54 VC10 airframes were built, the aircraft always turned heads at airports, especially VC10s appearing in the "Golden Speedbird" livery of BOAC, from 1965 to 1970.

This print, illustrated by artist Chris Bidlack, highlights the graceful overhead shape of the Super VC10, the longer and sleeker variant of the airplane. If looks spelled success, the VC10 would have been one of the world's best-selling airliners. In the end however, the destiny of the VC10 had always hinged on economics, and the airplane's operating costs didn't often match those of the Boeing 707 or Douglas DC-8. Nonetheless, its elegant shape and beautiful design ensures that the VC10 will permanently remain at the top of nearly all “most beautiful airliner” lists everywhere.

The print will arrive carefully packaged and ready for you to unroll and frame. (Framing instructions included.) Click on the image to see the full poster in detail. (And of course, the “JetAgeArt.com” watermark does not appear on the actual poster.)
