DC-5 "Faux-Stalgia" Travel Poster

$35.00

Poster size is 14" wide by 20" tall, including a one-inch white border, and is printed on heavyweight, acid-free poster stock.

The outbreak of World War II sealed the fate of the mostly forgotten Douglas DC-5. This lost link in the Douglas "DC" family chain is rendered over the words, "Travel the Modern Way," on this vibrant print designed and illustrated as a fanciful (and completely fictitious) travel poster by artist Chris Bidlack. It's a colorful "faux-stalgia" return to the period just prior to World War II, and the high hopes for an innovative high-wing design, the construction of which was shelved due to the War, resulting in production of only 12 airframes. Sadly, no DC-5 survives today.

The print will arrive carefully packaged and ready for you to unroll and frame. (Framing instructions included.) Click on the image to see the full poster in detail. (And of course, the "JetAgeArt.com" watermark does not appear on the actual poster.)
